BTW; did I ever send you my promised ‘participation’ to your last virtual coffee gathering? Because:…… I DID write a long(ish) contribution but it went into the void, as so many times happened because my fingers were too fast, or too clumsy or whatnot. THEN, I – at least started – wrote another comment as a ‘doc’ but I never knew if I sent it (copied it) or not…. The worries of a mind going out all over the place(s)!!!
I love marmalade, but trying to not eat very much bread ๐ Having your own oranges to pick must be quite amazing, I hadn’t realised it was warm enough to grow citrus fruit in NZ.
That would be nice (especially if you liked it). I have more fruit (and the promise of grapefruit from the boy-child’s garden) so I’ll be making more and giving at least some of it away.
YUM, ON FRESH TOAST SU, GREAT POST CHINA

I know that feeling! I’m hosting another tea party next week. Pop over; no need to bake — there is always plenty.

Lemons, mandarins and grapefruit grow really well herein Auckland. Oranges tend to do better in the north, which may be why mine arenโt very sweet.

But bitter oranges are best for marmalade.

Just had marmalade this morning on toasted bagel. Sadly, store bought….

I’d probably buy it too if we didn’t have free fruit. It’s definitely not cheaper to make it, but I do know exactly what goes into it.

It’s very easy. More labour-intensive than other jams, but definitely not complicated.
