  1. Of course it’s a lovely, moody shot and quite wonderful. But is the piano yours is the question that first came to mind. 🙂 Oh, would I love to get at that…or any piano for that matter. Not that I’m particularly good at playing anymore, but I still have lots of music and could get back into it. No room for something as grand (if you’ll pardon the expression) as that in our house, even though it’s spacious.

    • Thanks Janet. The shot was taken in a rather grand old house that is now used as an art gallery. I believe that room — the old ballroom — is used for lunchtime concerts, so I imagine the piano is played often.

My mother in law bought a baby grand when they last moved house, but not long afterwards her dementia got worse and the piano is seldom played. It looks lovely, but I think her old upright actually sounded better.

        • That’s a shame. Our son is the only one who really plays and we thought about getting a piano but although we have a big house, we could never quite work out
where to put it and in the end our son wanted an electronic keyboard as he was writing and recording music at the time.
