I vould crow toematoess eef I cout,
But I can grown nothing.
Not quite true: I can grow things, but before they ever get to be eaten by me they are eaten by teeny little horrid chewing things.
😦
Garlic!! I’ve decided that teeny little horrid plant chewing things must be vegan vampires. They seem to hate garlic (in spray form — I don’t go out and breathe on the plants 😬)
Really ? Spray the growing plants with garlic ? Do you make it up yourself ?
Your site is wonderful: you are a bloody professional ! 😀
Big fat hug from Maribyrnong, which I love,
One day when we still lived in Ohio, I looked out at my cherry tomato bush and saw a marauding chipmunk on the vine eating a tomato!!!! Little devil! Never knew they did that. Just one more reason to wish they were only in the wild. 🙂
Beautiful macro. Love how you can see the texture on it. Soon it will grow a bit more, bit more juicier and make all the more a tasty meal. Maybe it will go well with a salad or some pasta 🙂

Aw 😊 thank you.
Yep: garlic steeped in boiling water then diluted and sprayed on. Seems to work quite well.
Glad you’re loving the new digs 👍👍

Soon as I get my tiny balcony garden started, it will be garlic all the way !

Happy growing!! I’m amazed at what does well in pots — and my new obsession — wicking gardens.
This one https://thisnzlife.co.nz/diy-project-make-a-self-watering-container-garden/ is much fancier than mine, which is basically a Bunnings plastic crate.

I plant garlic around my rose bushes. It keeps the bugs away.

And a good reason to be glad I’m in NZ where the wildlife doesn’t include many tomato-eating species (apart from bugs)

It’s an heirloom variety I haven’t tried before, and that’s the first fruit on the vine. I’m quite excited to try it!
