What could be nicer than a lazy, post-Christmas afternoon with a cup of tea, a good book and some homemade Christmas cake.

I think you should change your title to “Treat” and link to Debbie’s One Word Sunday. Every part looks and sounds like a treat to me. And speaking of that, I had a treat today in the mail, all the way from New Zealand. ❤

☹️ what a shame you’re not here. We’re awash in Christmas cake. For the first time in years I baked one, then my sister in law gifted one of hers.

Sighh .. Still, xmas IS for families. I cannot claim to’ve missed out, in all honesty.

It is.
It was a gift from my sister in law. And this year of course I decided to bake a cake too — so we’ll still be eating Christmas cake we’ll into the winter.

I’m going to have a slice with a glass of port / sherry later. And I have put half of our cake in the freezer?!

Yum.
I haven’t opened the one I baked, and may be better to freeze it. I should have known that the first time in years I bake a cake, my sister in law would deliver one too 😬

First one I have baked in 20 years! Could have done with more ‘feeding’ 😂

😀 I’m still feeding mine — since we have the s-i-l’s to eat. Guess I’ll stop when the brandy runs out.
