Well, gesso’s the start . . . of what I can’t possibly imagine. And it looks like those needles are about to finish off another something? Looking forward to further enlightenment! ๐
My tasks today so far are more mundane: some cleaning, starting to take down all the Christmas decorations now that Epiphany has come and gone and I’m not feeling very Christmas-y anyway, making homemade granola, etc. But we need days like that, too, don’t we? Enjoy yours!
Hope the backdrops come out / I bought my son this little set of backdrops (clearance and he is hard to buy for) I will try and take a photo of it – I hope he likes it
Anyhow – as you can tell I read the comments and was wondering why you are getting rid of microfiber ? I don’t have many as we tend to have cotton towels but was curious
What a lovely gift for your son.
The dishcloths we can buy here are synthetic (perhaps not microfibre), but they “shed” in the wash. I figure that can’t be good for the environment. I know there are issues with cotton as well, but these seem to (if nothing else) last much longer.
Ajhhh
Thanks for the reply
And cheers to your thinning of the environment – I know that many folks think the small
Things cannot combat what is done on a larger scale across the world – but small things do make a difference ! Or can
And wishing you a nice rest of your day
I was just watching the technique of using gesso on Youtube yesterday. ๐ I love the second image!

Iโm painting backdrops for photoshoots. And the knitting was a cotton dishcloth; Iโm trying to get rid of all the microfibres in the kitchen.

Good for you on the knitting front!
Will look forward to possibly learning a bit more about those backdrops. ๐

Your day wasnโt that different to mine.
I also took down the Christmas decorations, tidied my studio (which led to the gesso-ing) and cleaned some kitchen drawers.

That’s a very fancy dish cloth Su.

I will confess that I had to look up Gesso; but once looked up, it was sooo obvious.
A lovely pairing, you brilliant button-presser ! ๐

Thanks Yvette. I try to do the small things because I feel so helpless on the big stuff. ๐ฆ
