Many (many) years ago, I used to watch the TV programme Sesame Street with my baby brother. At the end of each show, the “sponsor” announcement went something like “today’s show has been brought to you by the letters … (take your pick) and the number … (usually a small one)”.
This week’s Lens-Artists challenge, which asks for subjects beginning with the letter S, reminds me of that (and how convenient that the show was called Sesame Street).
So of course we have a sunset.
And how about some sea, sand and sky?

Or sunflowers.

Perhaps something sweet …

Or do you prefer savory?

I like to sew …

But I’ll leave singing to others.

Amongst the visual arts, I’m particularly fond of sculpture.
Sometimes serious …

Sometimes a little bit silly?

Just like Smurfs on a road trip …

Stringer ! π
There is a lovely word, Su, meaning S-shaped: it is
SIGMOID.
Stringer liked that word, and sometimes used it for a password, replacing the Is and the O with 1s and 0.

A fine collection Su. I am sure I have a couple of Smurfs somewhere that belonged to my two eldest – free from petrol stations back in the seventies! I love the little car.

Ours are petrol station giveaways too β but more recent, and T was very good at picking them up for me to use as photo props.

A girl after my own heart, Su. Well, apart from the Singer sewing machine. I was better at the singing π π

I love your sense of humor, Su! Smurfs! You’re the first to think of them. Shrimp, savory, sculpture…all great additions to our S collection. The sculpture in the sand is hilarious!

Thanks Patti. I loved that sculpture too. And it was enormous: super-sized π¬

I watched Sesame Street religiously for years and years with my sister, and then my much littler brother. It was the best! And then decades later, watched it with my children (although on VCD) – we didn’t plug in to TV stations but I’m pretty sure it was still running.
