I hope it lasts only 7 days! I lived in Hawaii in the 1970’s when there was a shipping strike. Johnny Carson, late night TV show host, quipped that there was no toilet paper in Hawaii because the Japanese tourists were taking it home with them — the very next morning, you could not buy toilet paper in any store in Hawaii! Ever since, I ALWAYS have a ridiculous stash of toilet paper, just in case!
Not great. Weโre barely out of the last one, and my son was meant to start back at Uni tomorrow. Heโs so close to finishing g and this is a setback he and his classmates donโt need.
Sadly no.
I agree; this thing just keeps rumbling on. Iโm pleased that my most vulnerable UK family members have had at least their first vaccination though.
At some point we are just going to have to get on with life and accept there will be more deaths associated with the virus than flu which already claims many lives each year. Or pneumonia.
Thanks Peter. We can do that — although it seems that about 1000 people crowded onto one beach on the first day of lock-down, so we may find ourselves being restricted to prevent such idiot behaviour.
Thanks Anabel. It’s looking more and more like this latest one could have been avoided if a very small number of exposed people had DONE WHAT THEY WERE TOLD. Grrrrrr.
Hate to click that “Like” button as I don’t like the message, although I totally recognise the importance of it, and your skill in capturing the image. My state (in U.S.) has just announced relaxing of some rules. I’m hoping it doesn’t become another “been there, done that & been sorry” decision, and will remain in personal l-d. At least your is (currently ๐ค๐ค) a week. ๐
It is such a tightrope! It’s looking like we’ve shut down the country’s biggest city, and seriously slowed the rest of the country because 2-3 people couldn’t follow simple instructions to self-isolate. Grrrrr.
I hope things are genuinely improving in your state, and relaxing the rules works out. But I totally get your personal lock-down!
Thanks Amy. In the big scheme of things, itโs a very minor blip; but my son was meant to begin the academic year for his last few classes, and the disruption for all those students is tough.
Hope you have enough toilet paper Su ๐ ๐

Thank you. I did a massive shop last week; perhaps subconsciously I knew what

Good to hear!
I love how responsive the authorities are in NZ – not convenient for you guys but ultimately safer!

It has to be very frustrating to the young people. Hard to make plans – difficult to do anything…

I am guessing that this is not good news? We still have a long way to go before life is anywhere close to normal.

Sorry to hear that. But NZ has done such a good job containing COVID. Whatever the restrictions, seven days will come and go.
