I SO VERY MUCH would like to have a Japanese maple, I have a large, empty vessel for it – but they are very rarely available for sale and they are horribly expensive. So maybe I’ll have to content myself with your wonderful, top photography!
You’re correct, Su, in that we do have quite a few Japanese maples about the place. For me, we planted one years ago for it’s Autumn display. I do love Autumn.
What a wonderful shot π

They are beautiful. They seem to be very common here, especially on the public stops of land between the pavement and road in suburban streets.

What a lovely shot. I have one slightly darker just coming into leaf now. When the sun shines through it is really bright.

I found this in the botanic gardens in Taupo. It’s an amazing place (probably the best thing about Taupo).

It’s the same here; and when I was away. It felt like summer in Otaki!
