April in Jude’s Life in Colour project is all about purple, and what’s not to love about a purple hydrangea?
As is becoming my habit, I’m taking inspiration from Tracy (at Reflections of an Untidy Mind), and bringing you some music too.
This is an intensely personal song written and performed by a beautiful young friend; a woman I’ve watched grow from infancy.

Is thatt more acidic soil or less ?
Lovely, whichever.

I loved it, Su. What an impressive and talented young woman your young friend is. I hope to hear her perform at our national folk festival one day.

The song is very touching. I wasn’t sure entirely whether it was a break up song, or something more poignant–about how we lose people, through death or just drifting away. I like sad songs, unless life makes me life one.

Iβm glad you enjoyed it. She wrote it about herself; about learning to recognise self-destructive thoughts/behaviour and take care of her well-being.

That is very timely, considering how I’ve been imploding lately. Took today off to clean my office and I can tell the layers of debris signify five years of depression. Let’s hope shoveling a bunch of stuff into closets is the equivalent to massive therapy!

Wow! Wow! WOW! Both – the song and the flower – are just stunning! Your friend is incredibly talented, that voice! It’s so lovely and rich – I wouldn’t be surprised to see her becoming a world-known singer one day. And the text resonates a lot with me these days, I think, it does with many of us.

Maybe we can watch her sing at a concert when I’m visiting? That would be fantastic! π
