These last few days I’ve been a bit absent from Word Press, so this afternoon I’m trying to catch up on the posts I’ve missed — fortified by a couple of salted caramel snaps and an experimental espresso.

Thanks. They are pretty good. A variation on hokey pokey biscuits. Do you have them in Aus; they’re a Kiwi classic.

My best friend was born in NZ and her mum makes them so I know them but I don’t think everyone would know them.

What a good pick-me-up you’ve brought us, Su. I’m catching up too. Been in Greece for a week, and it’s hard to retrace one’s steps on the home front. Brain seems to be scrambled. Hopefully the expresso will kick-start it.

Catching up can take a lot of time! I have 21 new notifications just from overnight and I’m headed out shortly to walk with a friend, so who knows how many there will be when I get back?

It certainly does! Like most of us, I feel a bit of dilemma. I really value the blogging community, and want to engage (more than just hitting “like” all the time), but life is very full and other things beckon too.

I feel exactly the same, Su. The two days I work make keeping up very difficult. Sometimes I just have to skip some posts, even though I hate to.

Thanks Sue. I’m a latte drinker, so the espresso was an experiment in going without milk. Not a hugely successful one I have to say 🙂

I’d have to agree with that. I’m feeling quietly impressed with myself for that small modification to a very simple recipe. The pinch of salt really improves the cookies.

I did the same with my caramel popcorn recipe. Just a bit of coarse kosher salt added quite a bit of pizazz.
