Thanks so much Joanne. It feels a little like the culmination of lots of small steps, particularly over the last year. The thing I’m proudest of is that he enrolled to vote yesterday.

Thanks Leslie. I do have a recipe for caramel mud-cake, but never make it. The birthday tradition involves buying this particular cake, always from the same shop. We’ve been doing this for about seven years, and it was as comprehensively demolished yesterday as in past years.

Thank you Mary. It is a very sweet mud cake, made with white chocolate instead of dark. It’s become a tradition for the boy-child; he loves it! Yesterday’s was demolished by a group of teenagers in record time.
