Yes; the sea is, technically, about 400 metres from their house. In reality, it’s a bit further to a place that’s ok for swimming (maybe 1km, if you’re prepared to walk part way there and only swim at high tide).
One of the most ironic things I’ve seen was a swimming pool hanging out over a collapsed cliff with the sea directly below. The owners actually had steps from their property down to a lovely, secluded little beach, but they still built an infinity pool on a clifftop — which then collapsed in a storm.
Goodness, that is a very weird sight, Su.

We thought so too. The neighbours who had the pool swinging over their house (and damaging their trees) were less than impressed!

Yep. Too big to get down the narrow drive, so they craned it in 😬

Goodness! All that trouble for a swimming pool. I wonder how much use it will get.

I wonder that too. The people who own the house never actually seem to be around.

I have no idea what that is??

Swimming pool. Precast in fibreglass and delivered on a truck. The truck was too big for the driveway, so they had to get a crane.

Isn’t the sea quite close? Do they really need a swimming pool??
