This was not a question in Leonardo da Vinci’s time. It’s a question I no longer ask myself when it comes to contemporary art, is it beautiful or not, that’s what interests me 🙂
Isn’t it. Turns out the artist is a friend of a friend, and I’m assured it’s ok to sit in the chair. Kicking myself for not recognising his (really quite distinctive) work! 😬

It was definitely beautiful. But for me it was more a practicality— should I sit on it? Or not? There was no sign. 😂

Is it leather or fabric?

Leather. It’s obviously been painted using aerosols; like graffiti really 😀

Wow! Gorgeous. Makes me wonder why we don’t all insist on only the very beautiful, even if utilitarian. The two shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.

I had a friend who painted chairs. I don’t know about sitting in them, but they were absolutely works of art and often rescued from the trash.

Isn’t it cool. The artist is Evan Woodruffe; his work is really joyous https://www.paulnache.com/news/2016/evanwoodruffe-huffpostblog
