“Sweet as” is a slang term in New Zealand for something that’s really pretty good.
I think my breakfast qualifies. I baked the bread, and made the jam from plums grown in our garden. And even if it wasn’t yummy (it was), I think I’d still get a “sweet as” for effort.
Looks yummy π I know where to come for breakfast now .

Kudos for homemade. I’ve made bread, but never jam. (Always just a bit afraid of boiling glass in water, plus, until recently, I had no garden to grow anything.) I wonder how long it would take to grow a plum tree?

Thanks. You can run the jars through the dishwasher, especially if you keep the jam in the fridge. I got more careful and started boiling when I realised Iβd be giving a lot of the jam away, and I donβt want to poison my friends and neighbours. We planted our plum trees about five years ago, and this is the first year weβve had lots of fruit. But to be fair, last years was the first time I pruned the trees really hard, and I think they needed that.

You pruned the prunes and they propagated? How perfectly prescient of you!

Wonderful! It really can’t get any better than that! Oh, wait maybe it could if you were to bake your own croissants!! π I’ve heard that’s possible and I always want to but in the end never do because it really is intense. xxxxxxx

Hehe. I have a friend who baked croissants once. Once is the key word here. I got exhausted reading the recipe. π xxxxxxx

One day we will both try it – and most likely will never want to eat bought ones again! π xxxxxx

π I’m not so sure (in my case anyway). I made crumpets once, which are pretty fiddly, and I am now totally happy to buy them.

Oh! I planed to make crumpets soon because you can’t buy them here but if YOU’ve found it fiddly then I’m not sure I’m going to succeed!

Donβt be put off by me. The main problem I had was stopping the batter sticking to the rings. And I think I was trying to make too many. If you have non-stick rings it will probably work better, or perhaps I didnβt cook them for long enough? I have made English muffins, which cook in a similar way, and they were really good. π.
