When you wake up each morning, you can choose to be happy or choose to be sad. Unless some terrible catastrophe has occurred the night before, it is pretty much up to you. Tomorrow morning, when the sun shines through your window, choose to make it a happy day. Lynda Resnick.
Good advice!

Thanks Peter. I’m struggling a bit to take it myself, so I thought I’d write it down. π

I agree. Get up on the right side of the bed!

I think my natural tendency is for both sides of the bed to be wrong — but I’m trying π

That’s all well and said if you HAVE the sun shining through your window π¦

I saw a sign somewhere on social media that said ‘It’s like winter is really mad and keeps storming out of the room and then coming back yelling “And another thing”‘
It made me think of you.
I think the whole world is a bit mis-aligned; it’s still humid here. π¦

I don’t ever choose to have a sad day but despite a determination to be positive there are days which simply push one’s nose into the dirt and there’s isn’t a lot one can do about it. Emoticons on Skype help. π The head banging one is pretty good. My sister and I have some great emoticon conversations.
Lovely photo.

I think I could adopt the head-banging emoticon as my own these days. I know what you mean about the nose-in-dirt days; so many people I know (including Family ZimmerBitch) seem to be having a really bad run of them, but I do notice some people cope better than others. I’m a natural “glass-half-empty” person, but I do find that consciously trying to find some good things around me helps me see the glass differently.

Yes yes yes! Here’s to many happy awakenings!
P/S Such an interestingly composed capture, Su! I am in awe of how you’ve managed to capture the sunrise on the wall! And such a charming bedroom; mine is certainly never this immaculate and tasteful!

Hehe. We’re thinking of selling our house and I’ve been systematically trying to make all the rooms look like tidy people live here. π

Goodness! That is s task! My favourite aunt prepared her house for possible sale not so long ago, and it took them close to a year!

I feel as though we’ve been “working on it” forever. And it’s become like painting the Forth Bridge — just finished and time to start again. π

This is good advice but for people like me with chronic depression the quote should be, “Get up, have breakfast and take your medication” Then the day may go okay. π
