Do you have any holidays there to help you enjoy the flavours of the season? Bonfire Night always helps me. I only have to imagine the words to think of black peas, treacle toffee and parkin.
We don’t really. The “big holidays” like Christmas happen in the opposite season for us, so the traditional Christmas foods are madly inappropriate in the middle of summer, and bonfire night happens in early summer when there is often a fire ban already in place. ๐
Those are the best! ๐
Only, I find that they are terribly choosy on where they feel well enough to grow. I gather it’s too cold in many of my living places.
I so love the juxtaposition of our seasons. We are just beginning to feel more warmth after a cold spring. Flowers still trying to bloom. And you’re nesting:). I’ll have an iced tea on the deck for you if you have a hot toddy for me!
Hope you’re feeling better Su.

Perhaps you could invent a seasonal celebration – your baking skills would help!

I guess we have ANZAC day and Anzac biscuits, but weโd need more than a few cookies I guess ๐

I’m grateful to my neighbours who have planted them in places where I can see and enjoy them too. ๐
