Well done, Su, especially as you’ve been ill. I read that Auckland is in drought. One Tree hill certainly looks very dry.

Thanks Tracy: I’m still clagged up and sniffly, but the walk was easier than I expected (especially as the temperature and humidity level had both dropped).
Yes: we are in drought. Pretty much everywhere looks as parched as the hill. No significant rain forecast either ☹️

This thoughtful photo reminded me of how the hills look normally in Northern California in summer, when there’s no rain, which used to be normal weather there–rainy winters and dry summers. So glad you were able to get out and about and made it to the top! xx

We’re close to the end of our rainy season in Southern California (equivalent to your August) — but no rain in sight! Many of the hills look parched like this already.
