LOL Su – last weekend we were invited to a friends’ home for dinner. My husband (an excellent baker) did a wonderful lemon ricotta cheesecake but as always he asked me to do the whipped cream topping. Another friend had recently gifted us with the nozzles to make whatchamacallits so I decided to give it a try, using a plastic bag with a hole cut into the corner as the pastry bag. Let me just say this, yours are WAAAY superior to mine, which I finally decided to obliterate and blend into a single, flat layer of topping π
That is one of my specialties Su. I used to do wedding cakes and there’s always a birthday here so I’m forever making and decorating cakes. We make the roses and decorations in a meringue icing and let them dry. After the cake has the base icing you add the dried decorations.

I so admire people who can do that. My sister in law also has these skills and her cakes are wonderful. I don’t have the patience, but I wanted iced Christmas cookies for a photoshoot, and felt I should at least try to bake and ice them myself.
They’re so cute! And since I’ve never tried decorating my cakes but only pour icing right on top of it, and maybe add a few nuts, I’d say your superpowers are far better than mine. ππ
Iβm experimenting with royal icing for some Xmas cookies. Seemed like a great idea for a photo shoot β but I underestimated how fiddly making the cookies would be π¬π€£
Oh, they’re cute! Toppings for Midget Gems π π

All I can say is that cake decorating is not one of my super powers.

I’m rather fond of midget gems. Not so the iced ones now, but I loved them as a child. Bite the icing top off and then eat the little biscuit. π

Great choice – I’m glad I don’t have to come up with a name for them or their shape, but it’s good to know that somewhere there will be one.

These were made of royal icing, which is way easier to work with than whipped cream — which never holds its shape for me!

I like the show too. It used to play here, but I haven’t seen any of the recent series.

Weβre on season 5, I think, and we can get 8. That probably means theyβre on the ninth season as we watch on Netflix.
