Brian at Bushboy’s World invited me to join him and other bloggers posting a travel photo a day for ten days. No explanation or back-story required, just an image.
The deal is I also invite someone else to join in too. I know how busy many of your blog schedules are, so I am always a bit loathe to nominate people.
But … many of you have travelled much more than me and have wonderful archives to dip in to …and I do really enjoy seeing the world through your eyes.
So Janet (This, That and the Other Thing), if you feel like it and have time, I’m inviting you today.
How strange! Another blogger whose posts I enjoy, Sarah, posted about The Angel of the North this very day: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/the-angel-of-the-north/ . But in your case, this icon of my home area is a bit of a journey. I wonder how many of your readers recognise it? Thanks for brightening my day.

I’ve just seen Sarah’s post; lovely co-incidence.

I couldn’t believe my eyes, Su! I can’t count the number of times we’ve driven past this 🙂 🙂

A strange world of coincidences this ‘blogosphere’, isn’t it?! Su, I love your edit on this shot of one of my favourite north east icons 🙂

I’d driven past it a few times too when we lived in the UK, but only got up close on a trip back from NZ a few years ago.

Oh I have seen that so many times when we visited by aunt. We were living in Denmark at the time….not NZ!

I’d driven past it a few times before we came back to and, but only saw it up close a few years ago on a trip to see my mum.

That’s quite something, Su…and then I saw my name at the end of the post. Thanks Sounds like fun. Do we link back or just post. Nominate someone each day?

I think link back, and nominate each day. I just posted instructions I got from my nominator. I think these things are pretty flexible — or should be. No fun otherwise 😉

My thought exactly!

Like others, I’ve driven past this many, many times – but only once stopped to see it up close.

Great shot and lovely processing. There is or was a smaller version in Canberra in one of the museum gardens. Not sure I got a photo of it though.
