ππ I used to hate the smell when mum lived here and I visited often, but now I quite like it. Totally enjoying the geyser views from the hotel window
π The smellβs intermittent. I really noticed it briefly yesterday afternoon, but much not since then. The abundance of hot water to heat the swimming pool and spa is a major compensation!!
My God! I was worried it was some smoke! So glad it’s only a friendly geyser in the neighbourhood! π
By the way – I’m really busy catching up with your blog posts these days! π
Have you got used to the smell yet?

I shot this with a zoom lens, but the geyser is about 500m away. The whole are is very active. We have steam coming from the earth all around us π

My first thought was ‘thar she blows”. Sorry, that’s all I have π
Your comment about having steam come out from the earth all around you would make me just a little uneasy. Earth dragons π

You on holiday? I’m not sure I’d be happy with the smell of rotten eggs, but an interesting place.

Temperatures vary a lot between pools all round the city. There are places you can swim/bathe, but many others which are boiling hot.

What a view! I’ve heard of Rotorua, but not seen photos of it, at least that I can remember. Thanks for reminding me of it.
