I read one of her novels a long time ago, but haven’t read Bird by Bird yet (just ordered it from the library). Glad you like the pic. The park is about 400 metres from my place, so the closest ‘nice’ spot to watch a sunrise 😀

Wow! I’d love to have a park that can look like that that close to my house :-). And you’ll have to let me know how you like the book. It was the first I read of hers and just so well done.

It is a funny little place; usually there are sheep grazing and the path leads down to a (fairly muddy) creek in the bush. It’s a tiny bit of rural in an increasingly urban space.

I think we need that optimism … but I think we need more now. I’m in the process of begging people to put up bird feeders, even if they don’t have much room. The birds find a way even in a very small area. We’ve lost 30 million birds in the past decade — and with a 2-degree rise in temperature, we will lose another 30 million. Feeders help them survive and it’s a small price to pay to help make the world just a little better!

You are right. We’ve preserved as much habitat as we could as our neighbourhood has been bull-dozed for housing, and we do have lots of birds! But I know that I can do more. A timely reminder; thank you Marilyn.
