Not sure if these rafters could be described as ebullient– or just a little bit crazy.
The next waterfall is seven metres high.

Did it. Had heaps of fun and landed up with a black eye, hit the helmet in front of me 🙂 Achieved many moons ago. Not sure I would do it again!!

Ouch. We watched three rafts go down the falls today; it looks brutal.

I’ve done it – only once. There was a lot of laughing and squealing when we did it, but I don’t know if I could do it again. The body isn’t quite as resilient as it used to be 😉

I though it looked like gun until the fraction went into the water and the first few rafters disappeared for a couple of seconds.

We definitely got soaked (we were in the front) … and the water was COLD! (hence the squealing!)

River water does always seem soooo cold!

It would be crazy for me but, perhaps, for the rafters it was just a matter of going with the flow.

… and gravity. There were some big falls. 😀

I would have loved to have done it when I was younger, but I’m not a strong swimmer and the thoughts of going under water terrifies me,

Swimming in rivers is fraught with danger at the best of times — currents and sudden depth changes and underwater obstacles. I’m not a strong swimmer either, and (even if our rivers were clean enough) hardly ever denture into them.

I did two whitewater rafting trips many years ago. It was an absolute blast, even though scary at times!! Like Suzanne, not sure I’d do it again, unless on one of the larger pontoon boats skippered by a guide. But then again… 🙂

Living in whitewater rafting country I know from hearsay how adventurous and also how dangerous this water sport can be. Great shots, Su!

There have been some tragic incidents here too 🙁

Haven’t done it and don’t plan to any time soon, Su….chuckle.

Definitely not for me. I get no thrills from being scared.

Nor do I. It’s one of those things in others I really don’t grasp. I don’t even like horror movies.

Me neither. I’d rather be amused, touched, provoked—but not scared or disgusted.

White-water rafting in NZ was one of the most horrifying things I did while I was there – even more scary than bungee jumping and climbing a glacier! 🙂

None of those things are on my “must try” list 😀

We watched three separate raft-loads go down — two falls and that area of really churning water. And that’s just one bit of the ride. Aaagh!!
